Meet Our Staff
Rev. Peter Hey
The Rev. Peter Hey was appointed as the Lead Pastor at Wesley UMC in June 2006. He lives in Concord with his wife Cathy, and together they have two grown children: Joshua lives in Philadelphia, PA, and Rebecca is in graduate school at Boston College in Boston, MA.
Peter has spent his entire life in New England and most of those years in New Hampshire. He grew up in Hooksett and attended the University of New Hampshire (graduating in 1982) and Boston University School of Theology (graduating in 1987). He has served St. Luke’s Church in Derry and the Mascoma Valley Parish in Enfield and Canaan. Prior to his appointment to Wesley, Peter served for 12 years in Massachusetts.
Peter is most passionate about preaching and has recently changed his approach to this ministry, shifting from the lectionary toward topical sermon series designed to speak to the spiritual needs of those who attend worship services. A recent worshiper commented: “Your message was refreshingly informative, digestible, and not just a lot of old Bible words thrown together as a piety soup.”
Misty is a lifelong United Methodist who was deeply influenced by the loving church family of the small United Methodist Church in Belden, Miss., where she grew up. She is a graduate of Mississippi State University and Vanderbilt University School of Law. She has been a New Hampshire resident and member of Wesley UMC since 1990.
Misty has many years of experience teaching Sunday School, directing VBS, leading youth group and as the Wesley Christian Edication Director. In addition, she has directed numerous Christmas pageants, youth Sunday musicals and children's Sunday worship services. She is actively involved in camping ministries at Wanakee United Methodist Center and led drama camps there for18 years.
In her free time, Misty especially enjoys spending time with her husband, Dodd, and their three children: Cecilia, Susan, and William. She sees what a wonderful influence Wesley UMC has been in the lives of her own children and wants to help others experience the many blessings our church has to offer.
Liz is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and has a master’s degree from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University where she studied environmental policy and natural resources management. Some of her graduate work was at the Royal University, in Leiden, the Netherlands.
