Children & Youth
The purpose of Wesley's youth ministry is to nurture the spiritual growth of youth (grades 6-12) in a safe, caring and creative Christian environment and to provide opportunities for our youth to deepen their faith. Sunday School is offered from September to mid-June.
Middle High Sunday School At 10:15 a.m., the Sunday School youth will meet in the Sanctuary for the Gathering Time. At 10:30 a.m., the Middle Highs adjourn to their own room for Bible study and fellowship. The Middle High class has a lot of fun planning their own projects which often include skits and puppet shows performed for the younger children during Sunday school. During the summer, the youth are welcome to help out in the all-age children's class.
Senior High Seekers Youth in grades 9-12 gather in the Sanctuary at 10:15 a.m. for the Gathering Time. At 10:30 a.m. they move to the Youth Room for an opportunity to connect with other senior highs. This is a time of laid-back fellowship, Bible study and prayer. Discussions center on topics of contemporary interest.
Senior High L.I.T. (Leaders In Training) Senior high youth (grades 9-12) have the opportunity to assist with younger classes, if they choose. A short training session will be provided.
Middle High Youth Fellowship Youth in grades 6-8 meet regularly to enjoy a variety of fun and meaningful activities in a safe, supportive Christian environment. Middle Highs develop friendships with other youth and enjoy opportunities to grow in spiritual maturity.
Senior High Youth Fellowship Several times a month, youth have an opportunity to grow in their faith through service and spiritual retreats and to nurture their friendships with other youth in an affirming, supportive and non-judgmental Christian community.

Youth Sunday Our youth choirs and dance ensembles, as well as other interested youth, collaborate to present a youth musical as part of the youth Sunday worship service. Scouting Wesley UMC is the home to Boy Scout troops of PAck 86, which meet here each week. Please CLICK HERE for more information.
Outreach Projects On occasion the youth elect to participate in outreach projects. For example, this year some of our older youth participated in the World Vision 30-hour famine. They obtained sponsors, learned about hunger in the world at a lock-in and then shared some of what they learned with the younger Sunday School kids.
