Everyone in the Wesley church family is welcomed, encouraged, urged, and challenged to further their own spiritual life, and the spiritual lives of others, by entering or building a N.E.S.T. devoted to Nurture, Enrichment, Service, and Transformation. It will be good for you, it will be good for others, and it will make our faith community even stronger!
What is a nest? It's a home - a place of safety, comfort, and care. A nest is a place of refuge and retreat, a place of acceptance and support, a place of encouragement and assurance, a place of growth and development, a place of warmth and security, a place of homecoming and belonging. A nest is a special and important place, and we all deserve to have one!
At Wesley UMC, a “NEST” is a small group of church members or friends, younger or older, couples or singles, or some of each. The Wesley kind of NEST is a place where people can truly belong, be themselves, have nothing to hide. A Wesley NEST is a place where people are welcomed and appreciated, no strings attached. In a NEST, one can safely engage in Nurture, Enrichment, Service, and Transformation.
The Wesley type of NEST is a place to encounter and respond to God's grace along with others on the Christian journey. It is a place to explore the faith and its implications for daily living. A Wesley NEST is a place to share life with all its ups and downs, to collectively do good, and to grow together as brothers and sisters in the family of God.
For more information about Wesley NESTs, or for help in joining or building a NEST, please contact Wesley's Spritual Enrichment Coordinator, Bill Broadrick (firstname.lastname@example.org), or call the church office at 224-7413.
