Open Communion   Offered weekly during the 8:30 am Sunday worship and monthly (1st Sunday each month) during the 10:30 am Sunday service. Open to all.

Child-Friendly  Children are welcome in the sanctuary. Childcare is available beginning at 9:00 am worship. Our children's message is near the beginning of this service. Many children then go to Sunday School.

Dress Comfortably People come dressed in jeans and sneakers, skirts or pants, or coats and ties and shorts in summer.

PASTOR'S BOOK STUDY   Beginning October 9th, Pastor Hey will be leading a book study on Marcus Borg's Evolution of the Word. This exciting book looks at Scripture in the historical order scholars believe the books were written. Class held ob Tuesdays @ 7:00 pm,

REDISCOVERING JESUS  This fall there will be a new DVD discussion series offered by Bill & Jane Broadrick. Two groups: (1) Sundays @ 11:50 am-1:00 pm in the chapel, (2) Mondays @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Bill & Jane's house. The first term begins Oct. 14 or 15 and ends Nov. 11 or 12. It features a John Ortberg DVD "Who Is This Man."  Details & Sign up sheet are posted at Wesley.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL  Adult Sunday School will resume September 30th with the book of Romans. If you have thought about trying the Adult class, this is a great time!

CONVERSATIONS WITH THE PASTOR  On September 30th @ 3:00 pm, folks are welcomed to come and chat with Pastor Peter Hey. You can learn more about Wesley Church, United Methodists, Christianity, etc. Come get to know what we're about. All welcome.

5th SUNDAY COLLECTION  On September 30th we will be collecting for Second Start's Alternative High School participants. Our contributions are very much appreciated!  Items requested: ramen noodles, granola bars, pop tarts, fruit cups, deodorant (men's & women's), toothbrush and toothpaste, soap/body wash, shampoo, sanitary napkins and tampons. Thank you! 

NEW SATURDAY AFTERNOON CASUAL SERVICE  Beginning Sept. 15, we will offer a casual worship service at 4:00 pm. on Saturdays. This simple service will include a couple of familiar hymns, a call to worship, prayers, scripture, and the same inspirational sermon featured in our other services. This service will be about 45 minutes long.

NEW WEEKLY SERVICE OF HOLY COMMUNION  Starting on Sept. 16, we will offer a service of Holy Communion each week at 8:30 a.m. in the chapel. This will be a Service of Word and Table and include the same scripture and sermon enjoyed at the other services.

SERVICE OF HEALING AND WHOLENESS This service will be offered the third Wednesday of each month beginning on Sept. 19 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel. This brief worship service will focus on prayers for healing. We will pray for those on our prayer chain and for the concerns raised each week. Anointing will be offered for those who wish to be prayed for in this way.

MUSIC, MUSIC, MUSIC!   Handbell Choir rehearses Thursdays at 6:15 p.m. in the sanctuary, followed by Adult Choir practice at 7:15 p.m. Whether you want to ring a bell or sing a song, there is a place for you!

        If dancing is your thing, the Household of Faith Sacred Dancers will begin their rehearsals on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 4:00 p.m. in the parlor. No dance experience necessary, just the desire to share God's love in this unique and beautiful ministry.

SPECIAL GUEST: IMMIGRANTS & REFUGEES IN CONCORD  On September 30 @ 9:30 am award-winning photographer Becky Field will speak and lead our discussion related to the cultural diversity of Concord and her book, Different Roots, Common Dreams.

SPECIAL GUEST: IMMIGRATION 101  On October 7th, Wesley will host a special guest speaking in detail about the real facts on Immigration. 12 noon - 2:00 pm. Lunch plans TBA.

MISSION COOKBOOK  Wesley's mission team Chef, Lynne Lemay, has put together a book of recipes that are loved by the mission teams. $10 each, benefits youth missions.

SPORTS GEAR  Bob and Mary Ann Wolfe continue to collect gently used outdoor soccer shoes, shin guards and long sleeved jerseys/fleeces for Concord's New American population. If you have anything to share, please drop off at Wesley.

BOX TOPS  Abbot-Downing School appreciates the Box Tops! Keep 'em coming! You can cut them off labels of many boxed/packaged food products. Drop off box at church.

USED EYEGLASSES  The Lions Club collects eyeglasses to send to developing countries. Please bring your old ones to the church office or to Spencer Kingsland. Thanks!
